A.P.N.U. victory projected; GECOM’s Surujbally drags feet on certifying results; PPPC in shock!

Georgetown, Guyana: November 28th, 2011 — (OVNN)

In 1992 when the PPPC government won the elections from then Hoyte led PNC government, the election results were certified and released the same night. Here it is 19 years later, and with the advancements in technology and GECOM’s Surujbally disrespectfully tells the nation to, “go home and sleep” last night.

At his final press briefing last night, Surujbally and the Guyana media simply shut down operations and went home while the anxious electors roamed in their communities and on facebook for every bit of unofficial news they could muster. In his morning press conference he wasn’t much more forthcoming as he rambled on forever giving juvenile reasons for not releasing the results.

Why didn’t GECOM share the results with the Guyanese public as the came? Why is state-owned NCN; the network with the most coverage in Guyana; not sharing any elections coverage with citizens of Guyana? Why is Surujbally directing news services to desist from sharing uncertified but optimistic results with citizens, while Donald Ramotar and the PPPC’s facebook pages are practically declaring victory in the face of what is the most dire elections results they have witnessed in 19 years.

Unofficial results pouring in from polling stations around the country indicate that Guyanese citizens rose to the occasion and spoke in OneVoice against the corrupt PPPC government. APNU is projected to sweep Georgetown and Linden, while AFC is projected to damage the PPPC considerably in region 6, their historical stronghold. Credible sources within GECOM shared that the delay stems from the fact that the PPPC insisted on a recount after the official results were shared with them.

It is important to note that In spite of the millions of taxpayer dollars spent on their campaign, in spite of their financial support by big businesses, in spite of their domination of the media, in spite of the lies and propaganda, in spite of the attempt to divide the country racially, in spite of all this and more; the certified results will indicate that the PPPC failed miserably,

OVNN is seeking confirmation on the reason for the delay in certifying results, but the delay is causing GECOM’s “unbiased” motives to once again be questioned. The Guyanese people will not be fooled however, all unofficial sources indicate results are tracking towards a solid victory for APNU and no amount of last minute nefarious dealings will be allowed to change that fact.

Sources close to PPPC government ministers shared with OVNN that over the past week, that ministers were withdrawing cash from the bank, smuggling gold bars to Suriname, making arrangements to rent out or sell their Pradoville properties and other investment rights and shredding documents in at least two major ministries.

OVNN calls on GECOM to show some respect to the Guyanese electors. Certify the results and let the Guyanese people rejoice. Guyanese have spoken and they are saying, “end the delay and corruption now!”. OVNN wishes to thank all the citizens of Guyana who heeded the call to get out and vote. Your collective voices were heard.   (One Voice Network News – OVNN)
