Guyana Elections Commission (GECOM) Chairman Dr Steve Surujbally said he is hoping to have final results of the elections available by tomorrow evening, but stopped short of committing himself to a time for an official announcement.
“I’ll tell you what I want, I would love to have that done by tomorrow evening, but I am not going to pin [Chief Election Officer Gocool] Boodoo down,” he told a news conference at the Pegasus Hotel, while noting that the law allows for up to 15 days for the tallying of the votes.
“God, help us! We will not go for 15 days to give you a result,” he added.
Polls closed at 6pm and at many places of poll counting has started.

hope this is not a repeat of 1997; i wonder y they r not broadcasting the count as they receive them. USA have millions of voters whose votes r counted and people follow the count. We r not slaves nor 2nd class citizens and we have a right to that info blow by blow.
We should know tonight if PPP/C, APNU, or KFC win this Selection.
Waiting is dangerous. Results could be manipulated once more to show that the ruling party has the victory. Just examine the behaviours of their black members and u can get a shining example of the bold illegal acts the entire PPP cabal is willing to take to remain in office.
According to their president they “must guard their gains.”
APNU supporters seem to have a desperate plea. This is what you want to bring back to Guyana?
APNU could say good bye to Guyana, the people will never ever put these old PNC soul as their leader, unless they want to feed there children boosie.
Remember how we used to grind rice to make flour, well APNU will have you grind mud to make flour.
