Comments
The President has spoken again of the need to have the Guyanese Diaspora abroad share their skills with their countrymen and women, with the Private Sector and the Government in Guyana. It was a similar plea he made months ago while speaking to the Diaspora in Canada. There is need for those at home to organize a Skill Pools of Needs at the Guyana end of the managment and abroad an official coordinator at the Embassy level of Guyana in New York and Canada to be so organised that this availability of the Skill pool abroad can be computerized for immediate action. Some ground work need to be done early or the idea will remain an idea and no one will benefit from the inaction that can result from such a worthy and possible venture! The Amaila Hdroelectric project has catapulted the nation into a number one position as the potential for low cost Hydroecectric power becomes a reality for parts of the neighboring Latin America and Guyana.
I agree with you, Cyril. There is need for a Skill Pool, management, and coordination. Without a coordinator and support team to set this idea into motion, it will remain just a vision.
