The Curse of Cain doctrine was practiced in the Mormon church (Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints) for 130 years and discontinued in 1978 due to tax reasons that Pres. Jimmy Carter upheld.     This Romney video is a bomb. It should be emailed to Fox so that the likes of Shawn Hannity and his likes could get to ask Romney about the Curse of Cain doctrin.

    I’m very appalled that people want to vote him into the White House…as Commander and Chief of the United States. The President is for ALL PEOPLE. His beliefs are definitely bias. And the fact that he won’t talk about it, bothers me! I would like for him to respond to the question…but I know even if he does…it will be BS. Thanks for sharing the knowledge.

    We need a president for all people. Romney will not answer this question, just as he will not show how much taxes he paid for the past 12 years.
    He need to answer this question and provide his income tax.

        Obama made a major speech on race relations aas a result of Wright’s comments and of course distanced himself from them. You simply cannot equate the doctrine of a rich, influential church and the ravings of an individual preacherman. In the first place the Adam and Eve story goes counter to everything that is scientific and historical and then for some Whites, a race theory about Black People being cursed is attached to the initial falsehood. Mormons CANNOT distance themselves from their past and that is why Romney refused to deal with that issue. Since it doesn’t really concern White America he wasn’t pressed enough on it. There was a sort of Gentleman’s agreement between the two parties not to raise his Mormon beliefs.

      It was not taken up by the press, like the Reverend Wright matter was, simply because it only concerns Blacks and as is pretty obvious, Blacks are generally uninformed about Mormon beliefs. The educaion of Blacks has to be primarily a Black project.

    I’ll be objective. He was Governor of Massachusettes and we never had this problem with him. I was sceptical when he became Governor of our State but he did a very good job as governor while balancing the budget and standing for Godly principles.Actually I was sorry when he left as Governor.

    When I was a youth we heard that Colored people could not even enter the Mormon temple in Salt Lake City. My family listened to the great Mormon choir every Sunday morning before going to church. Knowing that music has no bias we were avid listeners. Conde, the organist and the choir were spectacular. Then a plane crashed with the whole choir on board. Then they were silenced for a time. God moves in mysterious ways.

    Let us recognise once and for all that white supremacy really begins with the story of Adam and Eve, supposedly created in the image of God. The reality is that Homo Sapiens Sapiens came from Africa and spread around the world. Everything else is creation myth.

    I am very glad that this video was sent to me. There are quite a few young Mormans working in my country Guyana, South America. The Mormans are also very generous in giving to the poor and needy in Guyana. But this “Curse upon Black People” Mormon doctrine is not generally known. I agree that the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints must offer an apology. It would be the decent thing to do. The sooner the better.

    Why should he provide more of his tax files than is required? Every politician in America is essentially corrupt. Taxes or no taxes. Also, most presidents in the US over the past 100 years share the same prejudice as the Mormons. They all thought, that Blacks were inferior, even many of you Blacks blogging on this page feel that way, even as I write this. You guys are mostly hippocrtites. The world is not perfect assholes – get over it! I prefer Romney than a Gay Black President sympathiser.

    I am concerned that Mr.Romney may be using the Presidency of the USA as a stepping stone to his religious goals.
    Apparently (I really am not sure), Mormons believe that they can be deified in the life hereafter. They can get a “jump start” by their achievements on earth. If I look at Mr. Romney’s character through this particular lens, his behavior makes sense.
    The presidency of the USA must be the pinnacle of such worldly attainments.
    What appear to be ‘flip flops’ show his intention to achieve the Presidency under any or all circumstances.
    His utterances about the 47% were made in what he thought to be a safe environment, among cronies. Alas, we live in an age of continuous electronic surveillance; and thanks to that, we now have a clear line of sight into the true character of the man who wants to be President.- for the benefit of only a small, rich, elite clique.
    Mr. Romney needs to understand, in the clearest terms, the true meaning of the following paragraph.
    “We the People, of the United States, in Order to form a more perfect Union, establish Justice, insure domestic Tranquility, provide for the common defence, promote the general Welfare and secure the Blessings of Liberty to ourselves and our Posterity, do ordain and establish this Constitution for the United States of America.”

    I am in shock to say the least. I voted for President Obama and I have already voted for him again. I am at a lost for words. I am at the same lost for words when I was on the subway about 20 years ago, going through Bay Ridge Brooklyn. I got up for an elderly white woman to sit down. I was taught to respect my elders. That woman looked at me, I was 19 at the time. She looked at me and said, ‘I don’ want a seat from no nigger’. I was blown away. Then an elderly black man told me to sit my ass down and don’t ever get up to offer any of them a seat again. Like I said, I am just blown away.

    I just want to know in 2012, how can white people still have so much hate? In time to come there will not be any clear race. We are all a product of culture mixing. I have to say culture mixing, because we are all from one race, the human race. So in time to come we will have our childrens, children being raised with parents from different cultures. I look forward to that. The joys of life is the variety of life. Praise intercultural marrages. Help me coin a new word to be entered into Websters dictionary. Intercultural marriage. No more interacial marriages. We are NOT from different races. We are from different cultures.

    I am a product of intercultural marriage and my husband and I encourage our children to look outside their neighborhood and their country.

      It is interesting that no one has commented on the post by Peter T. Rich. The question of whether many Blacks have internalised race inferiority based on the notion of Adam created in “the image and likeness of God” and notions of Jews being the “Chosen Race”, or Arabic (just one member of the Afro-Asiatic family) being a “sacred” language, should be addressed. The Mormon race theory is not localised since if you push many white Southerners they will tell you that is what they too believe. The real problem is the Blacks (Christians or Muslims) who are willing to accept such inanities in the face of all the scientific knowledge which has been accumulated. It is amazing to see the spread of Mormonism and Fundamentalism (Christian or Muslim) among Blacks in the Caribbean in recent times.

But, for too long, Black people have allowed themselves to be “demorilize” by people with “small” minds, and like Marsha, believes that one should take no offence to such bigotry. But, tell such crap to the Jewish people about the holocaust and see how difficult life would on God’s earth for anyone. It is about time Black people stand up for what’s right and stop putting their problem into God’s hand to resolve. Sainthood would not get them anyway.     And who apart from OBSERVER needs an apology from Mormons? Meaningless. They dare not say that Brigham Young was wrong. They can’t repudiate him. All religion is man made and ethnocentric. Nothing new. All false.
    The problem is when one group puts itself or is forced into an inferior psychological position through acceptance of the myths of a dominant group.

    Black people do not need an apology from Brigham Young or whoever else because what ever comes from the lips of BIGOTS is truly their understanding of the truth. Moreover, to add face value to the Bibical story of Cain and Abel, would create turmoil among religions. On the other hand, for those of us who read and understand the gest behind this story, came away with a different perspective from those with brains “too little” to comprehend its logic.

    This hate of people of COLOR, and yes! I said people of COLOR because they are those among us, who believe that this conversation exclude them. But, Brigham Young and the Mormons see it otherwise and believe that people of COLOR are the desendants of Cain (the bad brother) and they are the offsprings of Abel (the good brother).

    In the Bible, Cain killed Abel and Young and the Mormons believe that God’s wrath and damnation upon Cain has visited his desendants (BLACKS). YES!!!!YES!!!! ..the Mormons believe that People of Color (BLACK PEOPLE) are curse because of CAIN’s action. But, are we not related regardless of CAIN’s action? Moreover also, just like the JEWS and Palestians, we are the product of the same cloth. Now tell me, how can family harbor such anomosity for each other? Or do BLACKS have a “bigger brain” that allows for forgiveness of others” Christains should read the Bible not as a holy book but a history book because what was revealed then, is exactly how we live our lives today. Brother against Brother and Sister against Sister. Brother kill Brother and so the story goes on.

The color of our Pigmentation does not matter it is the contribution that we make to this troubled world that will eventually matter. Do we want to love one another as thy self or do we want War as has been heaped on the middle east by the war mongers of the USA. One race cannot claim superiority over the others and this is what brought about the Hitlerism that destroyed the millions of Jews! Lets all contribute to the peace and love that will change the hearts of our abusers. Love alone will deny them the opportunity to kill us.     I am appalled that these Mormons call themselves Christians. First of all the Bible teaches that adultery, fornication and a lying tongue are abomination to God. In 1John we read, how can we say we love God who we do not see and hate our brethren whom we see. Love your neighbor as your self. That is another lesson from the Bible. Who is your neighbor? I believe every human being on the face of the earth, because we were all created by God, is our neighbor. Do these people who hate because of the color of one’s skin realize that they are disrespecting their creator, He created all human being equal. Mitt Romney God will bring you into judgement because you disrespect His creation. He created the 47% you talked about. President Obama respects and threats everyone equal. America needs to wake up and be serious about who they choose to be their leader. To those of you black church leaders who are telling your congregation not to re-elect the President; let me tell you fools something – If he looses this election, he will not be hurting financially, but you dummies will. Mitt Romney will see to it that your congregation do not have enough money to pay tithes. Remember the middle class will be paying higher taxes.

    Regardless of what Rommy’s religion is, he could not have won the Presidency of the USA. I have said this under other comments. He would have been for the rich only and the middle class would have suffered. Now that I know though, he was rather distained to his fellow man. As Christ told us ‘We should love onother as He has loved us’. This was said before the Mormon Religion was formed in the 1700’s. Rommy was one Mormon still carried out the wishes of those in his Church as he preached that all backs are here on earth to serve Satan. This was his belief even what was written in the Holy Bible against such beliefs. I am sure the the hand of God will touch him in due course into believing that all men of various colours are God’s children. We as Christians need to pray for the Mormon Church and all other denominations to change their way of thinking and that we are all children of God who was brought into this world in the likeness of God himself and not otherwise. May Peace and Grace be among the people of the Mormon Church from this day onward.

    In my heart I felt that Mitt Romney was a evil spirit I watch him on TV and I could barley look at him I never saw a sign of love it was always hate and I thank God who loves us all that he didn’t become the President of the United States of America. If he had he would have did everything in his power to have moved the darker race of people backwards instead of forward what he forgot that God open the door for the president to walk though four more years he also forgot that when God opens a door for you or any one no man can close it .it is all about change it is a time for every thing we have been last for a season the last shall be first and the first shall be last.
    I thank God for this e-mail sent to me it clears up all my understanding about our brother Mitt- pray for him and family that God will touch his heart and those in his family. I pray that God will save his hold family it is really sad that people hate like that I thank God that when his Son died on the cross his blood was not black .
