AFC calls on Government to bring about charges against corrupt NCN officials
Months after allegations of fraud were uncovered at the state-owned and controlled, NCN the Government is still to take criminal action and this is worrying the Alliance for Change.
Moses Nagamootoo,Vice President of the AFC, called on the Government to act and bring charges against the corrupt officials.
When the allegations surfaced CEO, Mohamed Fuzzy Sattaur, tendered his resignation and Production Manager, Martin Goolsarran, was suspended for seven months. This was after an internal investigation was completed at NCN.
All went wrong for the company following the refusal by GT&T’s Chief Executive Officer, Yog Mahadeo, to pay over $3M to Martin Goolsarran, NCN’s Production Manager, for work done. One of the major discoveries was that Goolsarran submitted an invoice in his personal name and then took the money and deposited it into his personal bank account.

Comrade Nagamootoo has evidence of Corruption in the NCN investigations and he must take that evidence to the TOP COP and have charges instituted against the alleged corrupt persons. Of what use will he be shouting on President Ramotar to instigate the charges. He must exercise his civic duties and have all alleged criminals brought to Justice in the NCN Saga of Corruption!
Nagamoottooi must understand that a person must be found guilty by the courts and not opposition mem bers in order for sentencing to be passed. That said, if there is any small evidence of misuse of office appropriate disciplinary action must be taken until proper court action is taken. If guilty, punishment must be severe as these officers of the govt must be held to a very high standard. And they must understand and respect they are managing public properties…the people’s not theirs.
