Injunction puts Housing Ministry’s removal of ‘People’s Parliament” on hold

An injunction filed in the courts has put on hold, the Ministry of Housing’s decision, to remove the ‘People’s Parliament’.

And the Minister of Housing, who is upset at this development, is talking tough. In fact, the Minister said, that he is not going to run away from making hard decisions.

For the past two months, the group was picketing and soliciting the views of citizens on issues they want to see taken up in the National Assembly.

The exercise is being held at High and Hadfield Streets,  just outside of the Parliament Buildings. The Housing Minister said, that the protestors cannot come within the boundary of private property and impose themselves.

The Ministry of Housing last week, put up a notice warning against persons trespassing on Government land.  The Ministry even hinted at removing the protestors.

Democracy is defined as a government OF the People, FOR the People and By the People. In Guyana there has been several brands of Democracy and Semi Democracy and so the definition can change depending who is at the helm of the Presidency. There was a People’s Participatory Democracy, then came up a Socialist Republic of Guyana then a Party Paramountcy was established then we returned to a Parliamentary Democracy which President John Carter re established for us and now there is another brand of democracy where the Parliament Opposition is in control of a Government by virtue of One vote majority and all parliamentary Hell is let loose. What kind of a democracy is this and what kind of a Parliament is this when the Speaker is telling the President to watch out for he may very well be charged for Derelection of Duty. Guyana is fastly becoming an UNGOVERNABLE Place and no one else except those elected representatives can fix this place. The President is unwilling to call the Elections. He needs time to continue his Reign as President Ramotar. Guyana God help you. Where are the FBO’s they need to hold mass prayers for the return of POLITICAL SANITY to the rulers and those in the Opposition who want real Powers in their hands and are blocking all good things in the Parliament. All they want is the head of ROHEE!
