Can we organize the same kind of passports renewals systems for the Guyanese Living and working in the caribbean region? We have to go to the Georgetown and personally present ourselves to the PP Office in oreder to sign those forms required for the Machine readable PP. This is creating a lot of dislocations and unnecessary expenses for us. The Trinidad Consular authorities are helpless in this regard. Can someone make a recommendation of the nature of the LOS Angeles kind to assist all Caribbean Guyanese to renew their travel documents in the Region. It is reasonable if one PP officer from Georgetown travels to the region and deals with those documents. He or she can come to our Counsular offices in Jamaica, Barbados and Trinidad once a month and get rid of the backlog of new and old applications for the MACHINE READABLE PP’s.
In UK British passports are renewed by POST…via a passport agency…
It says in print on front cover
European Union
United Kingdom
Of Great Britain
And Northern Ireland.
On first page European Union is written in 12 Languages
As its almost 10 years old …my new passport will have 27 languages
As EU expands its affiliations/membership.
Now the Iris is used electronically for identification
Also later fingerprinting profile…maybe even DNA
Bar coding…with movement of millions the technology is a necessity.
Internet technology can also be used sometime in the future for passport renewals
and travel….similar to scanners in supermarkets bar coding.
I see no reason why not !…if Passport states your name and DNA Iris or
Fingerprint matches then it is” you”..it is that simple.
Guyana carribean et all must wake up to technology
by its implementation/useage..
My spin
Kamptan
The point here is that someone from the Administrative section of the Guyana Passport Office in Georgetown must heed our calls for the support services that are also needed for Guyanese resident in the 13 member Caricom states. We need help as much as those Guyanese in the USA who are now being asked to travel to LA and to meet with an embassy official in the USA to have their PP documents verified, and approved for a renewal and new Machine Readable PP.
