Yes, he is the best. The infectious beat of the Mighty Sparrow is always great to hear. He puts you on the dance floor.
I wish I was going home this Christmas.
I have been a fan of the Mighty Sparrow since I was 13 years old. Born & raised in Trinidad, I remember the first time he won the Calypso King crown & seeing him come down Frederick Street with no shirt & a bottle of rum in his hand singing “Jean & Dinah” while my Dad (known to all at the time as “Uncle Freddie”) took pictures!! He has come a loony since then, and we are all much older now, but he is still, in my humble opinion, one of the best performers we have ever had!! The catchy rhythms of his music, combined with the sometimes risqué & witty lirics of his Calypsoes defy comparison!! Merry Christmas, “Birdie”. & my best wishes for good health & happiness in 2014 from an old & faithful fan in Lafayette, Louisiana!!
