Ethan Nadelmann: Why we need to end the War on Drugs

Published on Nov 12, 2014

Is the War on Drugs doing more harm than good? In a bold talk, drug policy reformist Ethan Nadelmann makes an impassioned plea to end the “backward, heartless, disastrous” movement to stamp out the drug trade. He gives two big reasons we should focus on intelligent regulation instead.

Ah… but the war on drugs is highly profitable for the American govt hence it will never end…if drugs are legalized, the American govt will lose out on this source of ill gotten income. It’s like the Mexican govt official said, “the Americans don’t want to end the war on drugs but CONTROL it.”

What is needed is for other countries to legalize drugs which will, no doubt, boost tourism for those countries. Guyana might want to look into this. Another positive benefit to this is that it will encourage skilled foreign workers looking to flee the draconian policies of their oppressive country.
