Wednesday night in Charleston, South Carolina, an act of terrorism was committed against a group of Black people who gathered in prayer. The church, Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church, was a site of slave rebellions as far back as 1822 and one of the oldest Black churches in the country.

Our hearts and our prayers are with the families and communities of those who were needlessly killed.

Yesterday, a 21-year-old white man named Dylann Storm Roof was arrested alive, suspected to be the gunman in this brutal and horrific tragedy. Roof went to the church and asked specifically for the pastor. He prayed with the congregation, and then after about an hour, he rose and said,

“I have to do it. You rape our women and you’re taking over our country. And you have to go.”          [Read more]

    When will this hatred end?

  • Cliff  On 06/20/2015 at 4:27 pm

To answer your question: When Christ comes again.

Thanks for your response, Cliff. In that case, there’s no hope for humankind.

I’ve just been reading more details of events leading up to the shooting. When our minds are closed to the goodness of The Other we despise, we are unable to respond to their generosity, acceptance, and love.

America doesn’t ask why white folks hate other white folks when they kill each one another so why should they ask the question when they do it to blacks. Sandy Hook, Columbine, Timothy McVeigh and all the other crazy random mall shootings that goes on in America. Yes, and it is about mental health. No freaking sane person goes around killing people just because. Call me a conspiracy theorist but I get the impression America is trying extremely hard to instigate a race war in this country. And given that blacks are quick to anger and violence _ blacks make up 13% of the population but commit over 50% of the murders in America – the white man has figured that more extreme racism towards blacks are needed to get them worked up enough to fully explode since the ‘black lives matter’ movement is pretty much dead now that it’s been revealed that poor white folks are subject to the same level of police brutality. I actually recently found out that my sister-in-law’s ex-husband was shot by the police for running away while they were attempting to arrest him for outstanding child support. This was a white dude but a deadbeat. Nevertheless, he didn’t deserve to die. Now the kids are without a father and financial support. Only in America….

Cliff, would this be the Christ who said:

“I have come to bring fire on the earth, and how I wish it were already kindled! But I have a baptism to undergo, and how distressed I am until it is completed! Do you think I came to bring peace on earth? No, I tell you, but division. From now on there will be five in one family divided against one another, three against two and two against three. They will be divided, father against son and son against father, mother against daughter and daughter against mother, mother-in-law against daughter-in-law and daughter-in-law against mother-in-law” (Luke 12:49-53)

“If any man come to me, and hate not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yea, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.” (Luke 14:26)

For the life of me I cannot understand why blacks continue to believe in the white man’s god given the heinous acts the white man have inflicted and continues to inflict upon them in the name of this very god. Stockholm syndrome?

Science contradicts all the so-called revealed religions. Nevertheless humans need to believe in something which offers them comfort and hope. Same is generally true for political ideologies. Same vicious castigation of “heritics”.

I just checked the FBI Homicide Statistics by Race in the USA [2013] – that is to say, Murders by Race in the USA. In other words, more murders are committed by Whites than Blacks, Hispanics, or Unknown Race in the USA according to the FBI:

One more thing I had in the back of my mind to say – Blacks do NOT usually kill Whites. It is usually the exception rather than the norm for a Black man or African American man to kill a White man or a man of European descent in the USA.
