It is cricket’s first World Cup and the games have captured the public’s imagination. The fans saw West Indies as they scraped by with a tantalizing win over Pakistan when there was slim hope for a victory.
The semi-final against Pakistan was nail-biting drama. Deryck Murray and Andy Roberts clawed their way from what was almost certain defeat to an improbable victory. As the pair neared the required target not a man moved in the Caribbean.
