The Real Reason Hillary Clinton is Disliked – by Quaid – Daily Kos
The Real Reason Hillary Clinton is Disliked – by Quaid – Daily Kos
Hillary has been a Trailblazer For Women and Took Many Slings & Arrows for It
People forget that Hillary Clinton has spent her life being a trailblazer for women and she has taken a lot of slings and arrows for it. I remember when Hillary Clinton was First Lady, I was so happy that we finally had a First Lady role model that I could identify with.
Although Barbara Bush is a lovely lady by every measure, I couldn’t really identify with her because I was getting my law degree and planning on being a working mother while working my way up through my law firm. Hillary’s life path was more similar to my future life plan and more aspirational to me. I looked up to her that she, as First Lady, was accomplished in her own right in the workforce and was an equal to her husband. Continue reading
Sex, Lies and the Tapes – By Dr. Dhanpaul Narine
Sex, Lies and the Tapes – By Dr. Dhanpaul Narine
Nobody’s perfect, but when you hold public office you become public property.
Remember Gary Hart? In a big political campaign the little moments count. Privacy is obliterated as the media’s perpetual hunger for news unmasks the tiniest details of impropriety. In the case of Gary Hart they didn’t have to look far. He gave the media the juicy details of his private life on a platter. It was Hart who told reporters ‘to follow me around. I don’t care. If anybody wants to put a tail on me, go ahead. They’d be very bored.’
But the media had the last laugh. A report from the Miami Herald stated that Hart was having a dalliance with a woman that was not his wife. He was messing around in real time with Donna Rice, in a boat appropriately named ‘Monkey Business.’ The animal, it turned out, could not be tamed.

Education: Reversing a dangerous trend – Adam Harris
Education: Reversing a dangerous trend
The recent release of the Caribbean Human Development Report highlighted just about what everyone knows but pays little attention to. It talks about the vulnerable people in the society—the women, children and the elderly; it talks about child labour and places Guyana at the top of the pile; it talks about the movement of the economy.
One interesting point that is not common to Guyana is the fact that women are fast becoming the brains of the society. The finding shows that women are the people qualifying themselves and even doing better than their male counterparts. Continue reading
Abandoned High School Transformed into Home and Vibrant Community – video
Dad Lives In Abandoned High School With His Wife And Baby After Transforming It Into Their Home
Nearly 20 years ago, Charles Shaw seized an amazing opportunity. In 1996, he and his wife Lisa bought an abandoned, vacant high school in Durango, Colorado. The 45,000-square-foot building was in poor shape, but its walls were solid brick. Charles saw the potential to make a long-time dream come true: to turn a large building into a mixed-use space that could become a vibrant community. …

Donald Trump Roasts Hillary Clinton At 2016 Al Smith Dinner
Published on Oct 20, 2016
After earning hearty laughs for many of his early jokes at the annual Al Smith dinner, Donald Trump appeared to lose the crowd as he crossed the line from jokes to deeply personal insults aimed at rival Hillary Clinton. Trump was repeatedly booed when he described Clinton as corrupt and latched onto information contained in hacked emails from her staff. That included a hit on Clinton for “pretending” not to hate Catholics as she sits at a Catholic charity event.
Hillary Clinton Roasts Donald Trump At The Al Smith Charity Dinner

A night after the third and final presidential debate between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, the two candidates appeared at the Al Smith Dinner at the Waldorf Astoria in New York City to raise funds for Roman Catholic charities. These are Hillary’s jokes.

National Awards – Uplifting moments for Guyanese – by Ralph Ramkarran
National Awards – Uplifting moments
ConversationTree – October 8, 2016 – by Ralph Ramkarran

The Investiture Ceremony at the National Cultural Centre on October 5, 2016 was an uplifting event. Those fortunate to be present were able to witness the best of Guyanese, most of them unknown to the public but who have dedicated all or most of their lives to the service of Guyana.
For a brief moment at the ceremony, and later in media reports, Guyana is reminded of the numerous Guyanese who contribute daily, and for entire lifetimes, to the welfare of other Guyanese. It is hardly to be expected that such Guyanese set about their decades’ long service with the objective of eventually obtaining a national award. Continue reading →
