Georgetown, Guyana, Jan 29th, 2017: The Caribbean Voice, an NGO involved in suicide and abuse prevention and anti-violence activism, is inviting nominations for its Third Annual El Dorado Awards to be held on July 7th 2017, at the Marriot Hotel in Georgetown, Guyana.
The El Dorado Awards was launched in August 2015 to recognize affirmations agents on Guyana’s social landscape – individuals, businesses and organizations (local and overseas) that give back to communities and causes, promote and support social causes and/or engage in charitable work to empower and positively impact lives. Those who give so much of their time, efforts and resources to make a difference are often unacknowledged and even unrecognized.
The purpose of the Ed Dorado Awards is to ensure that the Guyanese nation becomes aware of the work of these individuals and entities, to make them aware of each other and to foster a spirit of collaboration among them.
The only event of its kind in the Caribbean, the El Dorado Awards draws its honorees from the various regions of Guyana and is reflective of the various sub groups, communities and ethnic-cultures. The event comprises the awards presentation itself, a non-alcoholic reception and a dynamic cultural interlude that embraces the Guyana’s multi-cultural diversity and genres.
Award categories, eligibility criteria and previous honorees can be accessed online at www.caribvoice.org/el-dorado-awards.html.
