BROOKLYN, NEW YORK (February 11, 2017) –The New York Tutorial Support Group (NYTSG), will host the 13th Triennial Reunion of the Tutorial High School Alumni Association from July 30, to August 6, 2017. A number of activities are planned for that week, with the signature event, the Grand Gala Ball at Terrace on the Park, Queens, NY.

Incorporated in the State of New York in 2004, NYTSG is one of the more active of the many Guyana and Caribbean High School Alumni Associations in the city of New York. It also supports two major Brooklyn community organizations.   Continue reading

Riding on the coattails of far-right victories in the U.S. and U.K., France’s Marine Le Pen officially launched her bid for president on Sunday with a speech and manifesto full of populist talking points and anti-immigrant fervor.

“The impossible has suddenly become possible…Other countries have shown us the way,” the head of the Front National (NF) party declared in Lyon, pointing to the surprise Brexit vote and Donald Trump’s presidential victory.

yvonne-samOpinion - commentary -analysisThe radical left wing collectively lost its mind when United States President Donald Trump signed the executive order temporarily curtailing the immigration of refugees from seven Muslim countries (Iran, Iraq, Somalia, Libya, Yemen, Sudan and Syria) all well known for exporting jihadists. Let us not forget that within the executive order there is not one mention of Muslim ban, but one would never know that, judging by the negative and distorted media coverage.

Most people have the impression that it is a Muslim ban, simply because the media keeps telling them it is! The hysterical backlash, and complete distortion by the media, coupled with the grandstanding by politicians and celebrities only serve to reveal the deep divisions within America’s society. No wonder then that so many are concerned about a “Muslim ban” if that is what they’re confronted with on their television news.     Continue reading
