    Hello Cyril,

In the heart of celebrating our Guyana 47th Republic Anniversary with all the cultural and historical festivities, Hindus across the nation and around the world are also celebrating the coming of the spring season and their great desire for peace, progress and prosperity through Maha Shivaratri festivities – February 24, 2017.
I am kindly requesting a post of my attachment on this Hindu celebration, if space and time permit for you to make this possible. I apologize for short notice.
Thank you for your kind consideration.
    See Attachment.

    Kind Regards,

    Leonard Dabydeen

Some of the stories about Lord Shiva may seem trivial but there is far deeper meaning to his personality. It might surprise the reader that nuclear/quantum physicists/astrophysicists such as the late Carl Sagan, Frijoff Capra and scientists at the CERN see the deeper meaning. In fact CERN, location of the Hadron Collider where the Higgs-Boson (incidentally Boson is name after Indian physicist, S. N. Bose) was detected has a statue of Lord Shiva in the foreground.

Lord Shiva’s Tandava dance signify the dance of fundamental particles and the constant creation and dissolution of matter that is why the statue is there. Most Hindu tales have these deeper meanings, which on the surface, seem nonsensical and so dissenters are quick to trash Hindu beliefs, unawares they are trashing fundamental truths of nature and the Cosmos. If you can get hold of theoretical physicist, Frijof Capra’s Tao of Physics you will see his treatment of the subject is much more respectful and he sees the parallels between Hinduism and other Eastern religions and Western science. Hinduism is not WYSIWYG.
