Walk With Me on Camp Street, Georgetown, Guyana

Raphael  – Published on Feb 26, 2017
Exploring Upper Camp Street Georgetown Guyana. Note briefly that the new building being constructed on Camp Street are all privately owned, including the building that houses the Guyana Revenue Authority. Somebody is making a killing in rental income from Guyanese tax payers for renting that building to the GRA.

Nice video of a walking tour on camp street in Georgetown. Enjoyed it. It gives a current view of the area. Thanks Raphael. Please do more of these, they are interesting. Thanks

I like this… slow, walking pace, clear clean video, direct easy narration… and I didn’t even know that Camp st is now so well paved, and not just with a slab of concrete. Huge, complex buildings on either side, a few were familiar but most of them seemed to be “new”.. congrats and thanks Raphael.. a series of these would be welcomed.. Ken

As to be expected, Camp Street has changed since the days I last walked along its avenue and pavement.

Thank you Raphael. It was a wonderful way of seeing parts of Guyana from a distance. In some ways Guyana has developed a great deal relative to other Caribbean countries. What you did is an encouragement to revisit .

Thank you so much for this. I enjoyed it. I saw my old school St. Roses High School. Ursuline Convent on Camp st. Also the Georgetown Club. Brought back great memories of the many weddings and tea and luncheon parties I attended here it was a great place to go dancing on Old Years Night..in my day you had to be invited before being able to buy tickets to attend.

This is where I born. Aug 22 1953. My father Hugh Humprys a top lawer at Cameron and Sheperd. Our home in Lamaha Street has been pulled down. One of the typical Colonial homes, but time marches on. Great seeing Guyana again.

Beautiful. I was surprised to see that Shantas is still around. After school hangout. Best Dhalphouri and potato balls. I heard they were up here in Canada, but never found them. I see Camp and Church/North is still as busy. Thank you.

Such a great look, but I had problems just saying. Pan slower, if you identify something of interest rough rule of thumb , keep shot for at least three seconds. I know hand held is very hard, but remember you are there, we are not, we need a little time to catch up, especially people been away for a long time …Don’t waste good video.
