MODERN SLAVERY PART II
I wrote once about real slavery of the sugar plantation Many slave masters have died or are in lamentation Most if not all of the slaves have been freed Many other estates still exist due to greed Of course itâs under new management Like of old itâs the same arrangement Today I look at what is taking place I still think its a tubful of disgrace And I find slavery is very rampant For some find it hard to say I canât In every aspect of our modern society Every class of our modern community And done under very inhumane conditions With subtle hypocrisy of govât cooperations Still children are involved in the carpet industry Kids under 10 years are tied to something sturdy So they canât run away from their chores of slavery Not knowing what is playtime or using proper sanitation Using tiny blistered fingers to make hand-knotted carpets With no let up by drivers to meet large quotas and big targets Also to those making shirts, skirts, toys and embroidery As authorities turned their faces from this evil monopoly And as you dress and wear all your bling bling You never worry maybe say its not your thing But this sick industry would never succeed Had it not been for the popular westâs greed Deep down we are worse than the owners or pharisees Itâs our problem for we are the unwitting beneficiaries
