REMINDER…. Guyana Speaks will be holding it’s Bourda Bazaar on Sunday, 10th December (2pm – 5pm).
The ultimate aim of Bourda Bazaar is to raise funds for the purchase of a 5hp Yamaha outboard motor for the children of Wakapoa (in the Pomeroon): those based in outlying regions are in urgent need of a motorised boat to take them to school. But it will also be a great opportunity for you to network, do your Christmas shopping, support small Guyanese businesses, join in the raffle and enjoy all things Guyanese. MORE DETAILS BELOW
The Bourda Bazaar will be opened by His Excellency F. Hamley Case and will include musical performances from musicians, Keith Waithe, and Seetal Gurprashad (previously of the Hot Shots). There will also be an exhibition of work by the artists, George ‘Fowokan’ Kelly and Rebecca Sharples as well as stallholders selling Guyanese products as varied as books, jewellery, greeting cards, cushion covers, collages, food (e.g., conkie, snow cone, pone, cassareep, etc) and drink (sorrel, mauby, etc).
Admission is £1 only!
