How nostalgic is Black History month. A time to give thanks and salute those who sacrificed life and liberty so WE a people can enjoy the freedom to protest and resist.

Baldwin “The Fire Next Time”, is truly a deep look into the social and racist structure of the American culture. Like Malcolm X, he was unafraid to speak his truths.
In his unfinished Novel, “I Am Not Your Negro”; Baldwin spoke of not hating Whites but hated being treated as if his anger was inappropriate and an impediment to Black progress. He just could not understand the unfeeling attitude of White America-given the fact that Blacks were segregated, lynched, torchered and all else, and yet, all that Black people wanted was, the freedom to live like anyone else. This was also the fact he could not understand why Sydney Poitier sacrificed his chance at freedom in The Defiant Ones, when he knew Curtis could not escape.

“There is not a race on earth that is ever so forgiving as the BLACK RACE.”
