Jagdeo’s 12-year reign a maze – Granger

JULY 12, 2012 | BY KNEWS |

Former President, Bharrat Jagdeo’s 12-year reign at the helm of the Administration, has been “a commercial and industrial maze” that A Partnership for National Unity (APNU) is still attempting to unravel.

This was the comment by Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition, Brigadier (rtd) David Granger yesterday during a party briefing to mark the coalition’s one year anniversary.

Granger was asked to weigh in on the completed review by the Ministry of Public Works, over allegations of corruption surrounding China Harbour Engineering Corporation (CHEC).
That Chinese Company has secured the US$150M expansion project for the Cheddi Jagan International Airport (CJIA).

Greenidge determined to take over PNCR

Leader of the Parliamentary Opposition Brigadier (rtd) David Granger simply has too much on his plate when it comes to A Partnership for National Unity and would not be able to effectively focus on the People’s National Congress Reform (PNCR).
This is the reason former Finance Minister Carl Greenidge has not declined the nomination for Leader of the Party and will go ahead with his challenge of Granger.

Greenidge says that his decision has nothing to do with questioning Granger’s ability as a leader, but with five parties to manage under the APNU banner he (Granger) simply cannot do what is needed for the PNCR.
