The Guyana Tri-State Alliance has been around for more than 26 years. Each year, it has honored Guyanese of distinction. This year, a large crowd met at Brooklyn Borough Hall to celebrate the achievements of Guyanese from different professions.

The function observed the 51st anniversary of Guyana’s independence and it was held under the patronage of the Honorable Eric L. Adams, Brooklyn Borough President and Councilman Dr. Mathieu Eugene, who represents the 40th Council District of Brooklyn. Guyana’s Head of State, His Excellency Mr. David Granger, said that we should respect the differences in a diverse society and should have mutual respect for each other.    Continue reading

Celebrating Guyana in an awesome way

The Nation’s 46th Anniversary together with the capital city of Georgetown’s bi-centennial was celebrated at a glittering and festive event with an over capacity crowd at The Brooklyn Borough Hall on June 08, 2012, that was organized by Patricia Jordon-Langford and the Committee of The Guyana Tri-State Alliance, The Guyana Consulate, and the Guyana Mission under the patronage of New York City Council Speaker, Christine Quinn, with Council Member Mathieu Eugene, and Brooklyn Borough President Marty Markowitz.

The Golden Arrowhead Award of Distinction was awarded by The Guyana Tri-State Alliance, Inc., Consulate of Guyana and The Guyana Missions, along with a presentation of a proclamation from the City Council by Council Man Mathieu Eugene and a Citation from The Office of the President of the Borough of Brooklyn by Deputy Borough President Guyanese Sandra Chapman , to Guyanese who have distinguished themselves in Media – Film, Radio, TV, Music and other forms of communication.              Continue reading
