H.E.R.O.C. DISCLAIMER- Explains its work in Guyana
The Health & Education Relief Organization for Cancer Inc., (H.E.R.O.C.) is a New York State Nonprofit Corporation, filed with NYS Secretary of State on December 12, 2014. H.E.R.O.C received Public Charity Status under 501©(3) of the Internal Revenue Code from the United States Treasury. To date we are registered with the Charities Bureau of NYS Office of the Attorney General.
During our first inaugural trip to Guyana in October 2016, we encountered some opposition by the Founder and President of the Organization for Social & Health Advancement for Guyana & The Caribbean, Inc. OSHAG-C, whose Public Charity 501(c)(3) status was revoked on April 15, 2015 by the United States Treasury. The President objected to our participation with our planned events for the Cancer patients in Guyana during Cancer Awareness Month. These were all planned events in conjunction with the Giving Hope Foundation of Guyana prior to our arrival. Continue reading
