Guyana and Canada have restated their support for each other’s development thrust when Guyana’s Foreign Affairs Minister met Canada’s Minister of State and Foreign Affairs Diane Ablonczy at Takuba Lodge on Monday, (August 13, 2012).
Minister Carolyn Birkett said the two countries have a lot in common, with Guyana having a significant number of Guyanese residing there. She expressed Guyana’s hope for continued strong bilateral relations.
Guyana and Canada have restated their support for each other’s development thrust have agreements in Air Transport and avoidance of Double taxation. For 2011 close to half a billion Canadian dollars in goods and services came from Canada and just over 36 million Canadian dollars was exported to the second largest country in the world. According to Minister Ablonczy she would be trying to ensure Canada shares its development experience with Guyana. Continue reading
