Blessed are those who have a father like this.

May all you fathers TODAY reminisce on the overwhelming
JOY you experienced holding your NEW FIRST BORN in your hands in wonderment that you and your wife produced such a miracle … I dare say it was a greater JOY than the day you two joined forces…because it was an accomplishment to which you BOTH contributed…. and the experience was so.. so satisfying that you decided to do it again.. and again ??
You ought to go hug your wife and tell her how much you appreciate the “trials and tribulations” she went through for some nine months to provide you both such joy.
For you older fathers .. may you think of the good times and the bad times you went through raising your children.
It is my HOPE that you can all say…. rather proudly with your wife:
”WE DID DAMN GOOD”
Enjoy your day.. may you vividly recall the euphoria of
Day you held your first born in your hands
May the Good Lord Bless and Keep YOU .. your wife and children
Peace, Love, Laughter & Good Health

Thank you Rupert. Our greatest joy is our children. Our youngest will be 50 in August. Now they all have children of their own. When our children arrived on the planet I realised how my parents felt about me.
It’s really unconditional – their joys are our joys – their tribulations are also ours. Now they have their own children they realise how we feel about them. It all brings to mind the letter of St Paul to the Corinthians of which only an excerpt is given here….Corinthians 1:13 –
“ 4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. 5 It does not dishonour others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs.6 Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres.8 Love never fails.”
This is the best definition I have found of love.
Thank you again for your kind thoughts.

An interesting take on fatherhood often overshadowed by motherhood
Am one of the luckiest alive today
My great grandson entered the world in January 2021
…8 days and 77 years after me.
I’ll be 90 when he becomes a teenager with the possibility of me making the 21st century first great … Great grandfather…a slim possibility
Fathers are usually underrated and overshadowed by motherhood …
Both essentials to a happy family !
Fatherhood is an enviable purpose of life ….
Bel Mooney | The Daily Mail:
Oh, I know there are terrible fathers, just as there are neglectful mothers. Some people are not fit to be parents at all. But that’s not what we’re talking about here.
I look at the traditional role fulfilled by my son and son-in-law, and see how the pattern of decent, loving fatherhood is passed down the generations. Sadly, though, it’s often under-valued.
When a marriage breaks up, the law is usually on the side of the mother and it’s not always fair. Over the years, in my role as an advice columnist, I have received many sad, angry and bitter letters from men whose access to their children is cruelly limited and who live in a state of permanent grief.
Families Need Fathers is the lobbying and support organisation set up in 1974 to help these dads and its motto is beautifully simple: ‘Both parents matter.’
The #MeToo and #Time’sUp movements have shone a necessary spotlight on predatory, powerful men, but there’s a danger such a big bandwagon can stereotype the vast majority of decent, hardworking blokes as potential baddies. Which they are not.
Obviously, single mums usually do a terrific job. I’ve known many women who have found themselves bringing up children alone, for whatever reason, yet I cannot think of one who wouldn’t have loved a caring, stable partner to share the childcare burden.
